Sydney Airport Corporation CD-ROM

Sydney Airport has some 7,000 "airside drivers" servicing the very busy and unique needs of the Airport and the airlines using Sydney Airport. These drivers, drive various forms of vehicles from the standard baggage handling equipment, aircraft servicing vehicles, buses, aircraft tugs, and conventional vehicles that are authorised for use on Airport property.

They work under tight deadlines and schedules and under extremely hazardous and varying conditions, such as driving rain at night. The equipment that they service and drive in close proximity to, is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Any damage caused to aircraft is not only costly in repairs but also in aircraft downtime.

The training package was developed to instil a sense of responsibility and pride in working at Sydney Airport, but also covered all the rules, regulations, signage, road markings and unique requirements of driving "airside" (ie in and around terminal buildings, aircraft, taxiways and runways).

The CD-ROM incorporated some 375 sound files, 80 video files (in 16:9 MPEG4 format @ 1.5Mbps), and some 1000 supporting images, animations and graphics. It is designed to be delivered from standalone PC's or high bandwidth Intranet.
